Level III In-Home Services Support:
Whatever It Takes
When Traditional In-Home Services Are Not Enough …
and Residential Treatment Is Too Much
The Whatever It Takes (WIT) Program is designed to provide the highest level of therapeutic intensity within a family home for those children and youth who are at imminent risk of
placement in a residential treatment center or into the custody of a State agency. The goal of the WIT program is to facilitate and enable children and youth to successfully remain
in a family home while growing and developing in the areas of emotional, psychological and mental well being. The WIT program takes a proactive approach to community and total
family involvement. Most of the children treated in the WIT program reside within a thirty-mile radius of the Family Priority office. However, under special circumstances a
family outside of this radius will be considered.
The WIT program objectives include: the reduction and elimination of high risk and potentially endangering behaviors within the family home; to reactivate and enhance the growth process
in the child and family’s emotional, intellectual, social, recreational, and spiritual life; to provide the child and family with opportunities to learn and practice productive skills
and for communication, interaction, relating and problem solving; and to provide support and encouragement to help the family function successfully.
